Case Study: How Jen Le Marinel went from Corporate Climber to Wild Woman’s Guide

“I used to work in corporate,” Jen begins, her voice both gentle and fierce. A well-respected, high-flying actuary in a FTSE100 financial services firm, she was climbing the career ladder, checking all the boxes of success – the polished suit, the management role, the six-figure salary. From the outside, it looked like she had it all.

But beneath the surface, something was missing. “I was exhausted, and feeling less and less happy,” she admits. “I was doing everything I ‘should’ be doing, but it felt like I was living someone else’s life. Deep down, I knew there was something else I was meant to do, but I didn’t know what that was, or how to find it.”

The fear was real. “My job was well paid,” she says. “I wondered, if I wasn’t doing this, how could I earn a living doing what I loved?” It was a question that felt too big to answer, until she discovered One of many.

Jen stumbled upon Dr Joanna Martin’s work and attended one of her programs. “I was utterly inspired,” she recalls. “Jo started this idea in me. Maybe I could take my passions for helping people and being out in nature, and turn them into a business.” She learned about One of many and the incredible community of women supporting each other to thrive.

But making the leap was not easy. “When I finally left my job, I just knew I had to come back and do something with One of many,” she says. “I spoke to one of the team and she said, ‘You do know we’ve got a coaching program, right?’ I remember thinking, ‘Oh gosh, no. I couldn’t possibly do that.’ I was completely freaked out. Who was I to think I could coach others?”

Yet, the call was too strong to ignore. “I worried about it for a while, but in the end, I realised: if I wanted to live the way I wanted to live, in a way that was supported by this amazing organisation I loved, I had to invest in myself. So I bit the bullet and did it. It was the best decision I ever made.”

Jen describes the Coaching Certification as “the most unbelievable and profound 12 months of my life.” Of course, she came out of it with a certification, new skills, and a licence to share the One of many tools with her clients. But it was so much more than that. “I made lifelong friends, learned to trust myself, and rediscovered who I am. I remembered how it feels to shine, to dream, and to thrive. I learned to celebrate myself and my story, to embrace my emotions and believe in myself—and help others do the same.”

For Jen, the transformation was complete. “I learned to trust my intuition and trust life. Most importantly, I dared to dream, and to actually live those dreams.”

Today, Jen is no longer cooped up in a corporate office. She has built a thriving coaching business – Wildfire Walks – leading women back to their wild selves through immersive nature retreats, outdoor coaching, and deep inner work. As a One of many® Certified Women’s Coach and Trainer, and with extensive training in outdoor leadership, embodiment, voice dialogue, and emotional freedom techniques, she helps successful, smart women who’ve done everything they “should” do, but still feel something is missing.

“From the outside, you probably seem happy and successful,” she says to her clients. “But behind the scenes, you’re feeling trapped, lost, with no space to breathe. You’re wondering what’s missing—or where you lost yourself along the way.” With her gentle, encouraging presence and a dash of playful rebel, Jen helps women find the courage, connection, and clarity to explore what they really want from life—and then go out and live it.

Jen knows what it’s like to succeed in the traditional world, and what it’s like to realise that wasn’t her path. “There is a different way,” she says, with a smile. And with every walk in the woods, every coaching conversation under the open sky, she helps other women find their way too.

Jen’s story is a beautiful reminder that transformation is possible, especially when you’re surrounded by a community that believes in you. If you’re feeling that same longing for something more, know that you’re not alone. The One of many® Coaching Certification might be the invitation you’ve been waiting for. It’s a chance to discover the tools and support you need to create your own version of a life well-lived, one that feels wild, purposeful, and uniquely yours.
